Fifth Framework ProgrammeEnergy, Environment and Sustainable Development

Last Update: 2006-10-25

Efficient energy management above all requires an infrastructure for the monitoring and control of energy distribution and consumption.

The REMPLI project therefore aims at creating a distributed infrastructure suitable for real-time data collection, data processing for billing, statistics and planning (as well as tariff management), management of the distribution network (supervision, control, quality), energy loss detection and fault control and inclusion of add-on services (domotics, security).

In the framework of the project, an open Business Interest Group (BIG) is established, comprising utility companies, energy agencies, and equipment manufacturers or service providers as potential user of the developed technology. This group will act as an advisory board, and they will be included in the review and discussion of the project.

The REMPLI project is funded by the European Commission under contract number NNE5-2001-00825 of the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (EESD) program. The project started in March 1, 2003 and has a duration of 36 months.
